Strange Noises

 

Problem: Beeping on boot.

Solution: This is a PC hardware failure indicator.

 

Problem: Clicking, Chirping, or Thumping sound.

Solution: This usually means that the power supply is gong bad.

 

Problem: Your computer has an interior grinding noise

Solution: Your computer has an interior grinding noise. This problem is generally caused by a faulty hard drive. This signals a hard disk about to crash. You should immediately back up all your data and replace the hard drive. The other possible problem could be that the bearings in your computer’s fan are dry. Lubricate the fan bearings.

 

 

Problem: Machine is making a constant beeping noise.

Solution: There is probably a stuck key on the keyboard or something on the keyboard.  Make sure the keyboard is free of any foreign objects.  Try to determine which key is stuck (it will probably be lower than the rest of the keys) and press it a time or two and it should pop loose. Check the keyboard cable to make sure that it is plugged tightly into the back the of computer. Once the keyboard cable is plugged tightly into the back of the computer, shut down the computer and then turn it back on.
