Missing Program

Problem: The icon for the program is missing from my desktop

Solution: The program may be installed on your computer but not have a shortcut or icon on the desktop.  For example, if you are missing the Word icon on your desktop then you must put it there.  Go to START>PROGRAMS>MICROSOFT OFFICE. Look for the Microsoft Office icon. Right-click on it and choose send it to desktop. If Word is not in your programs list then go to START>RUN type: winword.exe  and press ENTER. If the Word comes up then you need to create a shortcut to it.  If it does not it needs to be installed. You need to know the executable file that runs the program.  These files usually have the exe extension.  You need to do a search and look for this file.
