Floppy Drive Problems
Problem: Internal floppy drive runs continuously
Solution: Replace Diskette with known good diskette. First check that the floppy drive cable and power cable is seated properly. Then if problem is still present, replace floppy drive cable, then floppy drive, then Floppy drive adapter board, clean floppy drive and heads, check to see if heads are not damaged.
Problem: Floppy drive does not operate.
Solution: Replace Diskette with known good diskette. May need to be replaced or check by district technical person.
Problem: Disk will not eject.
Solution: Check to
see if something is not jammed in the floppy drive, like some kind of foreign
object. Check to see if diskette door (metal piece on floppy diskette that
slides when inserted into drive) is not loose and obstructing the diskette from
ejecting properly, it is advisable if this happens that you remove the drive and
remove the floppy drive cover and remove the diskette. Be very careful not to
rip off the top head removing the floppy diskette, if you do the drive will need
to be replaced. May need to be replaced or check by district technical person.
